An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Caloundra GWM in the role of Senior Mechanic. Caloundra GWM, is part of the Pacific Dealership group with three dealership locations at Gympie and the Sunshine Coast and includes brands such as GWM, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Honda, JAC and Goodyear Autocare. The Pacific Gympie dealership group is family-owned and has been operating for over 20 years in the Gympie and Sunshine Coast region and provides jobs to over 90 people locally. You will be joining a friendly, and positive team who are passionate about all things automotive, achieving exceptional customer satisfaction and achieving high results.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and repairing vehicles/equipment to the highest standards.

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role will be responsible for providing the best possible service to customers while simultaneously maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standard.

What will you be responsible for:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles, including [EVs & HEVs].
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical issues.
  • Lead and mentor junior mechanics, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Order and manage parts inventory as necessary.
  • Communicate with customers and team members to provide updates on repairs and maintenance.
  • Working with the Service Manager to monitor efficiency and productivity of the service team.

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to train junior team members.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Cert 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanical is mandatory.
