Working within our vibrant Canberra workshop, you'll collaborate with fellow artisans, makers, and designers, engaging in innovative projects that elevate your craft.

You will be a key collaborator within both the Design and Make teams, contributing to the development of the design concepts through to the production of unique visitor experiences. Your experience and expertise will be utilised to create high-end bespoke cabinetry and joinery, for our exhibition projects.

In this role, you'll provide leadership within the workshop, guiding and mentoring other team members , ensuring top-tier quality and timely delivery.

Essential requirements:


  • Possess 5+ years of experience as a joiner and/or cabinetmaker.

  • Proficient in operating workshop machinery.

  • Capable of interpreting detailed drawings, job sheets, and cutting lists.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and exhibits confident self-initiation.

  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

  • Displays a keen problem-solving aptitude with a strategic mindset.

 

Highly preferred:


  • Track record of successfully managing project deadlines.

  • Experience in specialized fabrication and crafting bespoke joinery.

  • Experience within a museum and gallery workshop

  • Preparatory Skills

  • Skill in prioritization and time management.

  • Familiarity with CNC machine operations.

  • Proficiency in site installation procedures.

  • Knowledge of fit-out and construction processes.

  • Possession of forklift certification.

Salary range:

$75,000 - $85,000

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
