Job Scope:
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer – you will be responsible for the detailed design and FEA analysis for Reflux Technology Products. The role is required to analyze difficult, and occasionally complex, engineering problems. Responsibilities also include directing the efforts of other Engineers, Designers, and Drafters. This role is crucial to ensuring that FLSmidth can continue to support the design, engineering, and delivery of new and complex product design projects.
Your responsibilities:
Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate design engineering assignments involving unique or controversial problems ensuring compliance with Local Legislation and Regional Industry Standards.
Contribute to the development of design standards/guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures in line with Local Legislation and Regional Industry Standards.
Plan, organize and supervise mechanical engineering activities for major projects
Represent respective product lines/projects at meetings and conferences.
Prepare patents and technical papers to be presented at conferences or for technical publications.
Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria.
Analyses complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
Review and approve design drawings.
Review customer specifications.
Participates actively in a team environment and contributes to completing team goals.
Accept accountability for both individual and team performance.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to the supervisor and Safety.
Any other duties as reasonably directed by your Supervisor.
What you bring:
Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering work
Ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems through the application of advanced knowledge.
Passion for concept development and mechanical design.
Experience in the vibration analysis of equipment using first principles and FEA methods would be beneficial although not essential.
Experience in using ANSYS and SolidWorks
Preparing engineering drawings
CPENG/RPEQ preferred or working towards.
