About Us

Our client is an expanding civil contracting company servicing the mining & resources sector with various ongoing projects running nationwide. The FIFO Safety Advisor position requires an individual who can develop, lead, monitor and report HSE processes with a personable and solution-focused approach, reporting to the Directors.

Our client is looking for a candidate with strong people and communication skills who can work well with clients, crew and supervisors. The Safety Advisor will have demonstrated interpersonal influence and coaching skills in being able to build rapport with the team and 'get alongside' in order to promote a safe workplace.

The successful candidate will act as a strong and positive example, demonstrating guidance and leadership at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement HSE processes within construction projects. Responsible for the financial, schedule and safety performance of the area of responsibility.
  • Tailor safety management plans for projects to enable the project to function efficiently, safely and effectively.
  • Drive accountability for safety and environmental management both in design and construction through the line management.
  • Regularly engage and provide reporting through to the executive management team.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential problems and lead contingency plans.
  • Move between projects, sites and jobs as required.

Key Requirements:

  • C-class license is required.
  • Cert IV in Health & Safety.
  • Bring a thorough knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety, including audits, in a construction/mining or relevant context.
  • Solution-focused approach when working with clients.
  • Proven record with change management and safety promotion through interpersonal influence and coaching.
  • Provide evidence of managing relationships with clients, contractors and staff to see projects carried out safely and timely.
  • Demonstrate experience developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on HSE, VOC, risk assessments and site inspections.
  • Willingness to undertake training as required relevant to the position.
