Description

For 10+ years, Wood has held a Maintenance contract at Lytton, and have been heavily imbedded into the Ampol culture with a strong focus on team alignment across the contracting teams. 

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Rotating Mechanical Workshop Supervisor to join our team, at the Ampol Refinery. 

The primary objective for this role is to provide day to day supervision and manage the daily operations of the mechanical workshop. This includes ensuring the effective maintenance and overhaul of rotating equipment such as pumps and compressors, leading workshop improvement projects, and implementing 5S methodologies to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity.

To be successful in this role, applicant must:

  • Provide leadership and supervision of the mechanical discipline, ensuring the delivery of scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance in line with safety,
  • Manage specialist services contractors to deliver maintenance plans as required,
  • Participate in the effective planning, scheduling and coordination of preventative, non-routine maintenance activities, and ensure service objectives are met within the required timeframes,
  • Lead Improvement programs.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and other mechanical systems,
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and meet quality standards,
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and equipment histories,
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for workshop tasks,
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor job progress,
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodologies in the workshop.


Qualifications
  • Recognised mechanical trade certificate Fitter & Turner, 
  • Or Certificate III in Engineering
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (desirable)
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar role within the minerals or Oil refining processing industries,
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and policies,
  • Financial awareness and where required the ability to manage budgets,
  • Competent in MS Office applications,
  • High level time management, leadership, planning, written and communication skills.
