We are seeking a Qualified Carpenter tor to join our team in Mulwala, NSW. The position is full-time and based out of our head office in Mulwala with an employer who values your team and solution driven mindset. You will need to be a confident, detail-oriented individual who is solution focused and ready to thrive in a busy setting.

Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry
  • Construction Induction Card (White card)
  • Current Drivers Licence

Skills required:

  • Proficient knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods including framing, lock up, fix, cladding & decking work highly regarded
  • Physically fit and able to perform the physical requirements of the role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building methods, processes, and materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • Ability to follow and drive for procedure improvements & efficiencies
  • A positive and solution driven mindset
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to help others and work within a team
  • Personal pride in the quality of your work and strong attention to detail
  • Confidence to work independently
  • Ability to meet required deadlines
  • A good understanding of the building/manufacturing industry (desirable but not essential)

Responsibilities:

  • Take pride in the quality of workmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and all Occupational Health & Safety requirements met at all times.
  • Maintain clean and organised work areas.
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices when required.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects.
  • Carry out qualified carpentry activities.
  • Carry out building maintenance activities.
  • Complete all building activities with regard to minimising waste or damage to materials and ensuring the return of any excess material.
  • Inspect products and/or materials for conformity to operating standards prior to utilisation.
  • Organise materials, equipment, and other resources to timely and efficiently complete construction activities.
  • Actively consult with the Construction Supervisor and Quality Control Officer to ensure all construction variations are completed.
  • Complete appropriate documentation and accurate recording of time and materials and utilise technology to ensure proper reporting.
  • Implement quality control techniques and measures and willingly contribute to quality improvement.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of YMH property including tools, consumables, machinery and vehicles from theft or damage.
  • Complete non-trade or administration activities as directed and ensure administrative processes are not impaired.
  • Apply time management skills to ensure work is completed to time requirements and production schedules.
  • Prioritise and sequence tasks to meet production and company demands.
  • Evaluate own actions and make judgements about performance and necessary improvements.
