We are seeking a Quality Control Officer / Leading Hand Carpenter to to join our team. The position is full-time and based out of our Bendigo, Victoria Facility with an employer who values your team and solution driven mindset. You will need to be a confident, detail-oriented individual ready to thrive in a busy construction setting.

Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry
  • Construction Induction Card (White card)
  • Current Drivers Licence

Skills required:

  • Trade qualified carpenter with 4 years experience in the building industry
  • Advanced communication skills, both face to face and written
  • Prior history in a quality control position would be an advantage
  • Prior history in a leading hand role would be an advantage
  • Proficient knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods including framing, lock up, fix, cladding & decking work highly regarded
  • Physically fit and able to perform the physical requirements of the role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building methods, processes, and materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • Ability to follow and drive for procedure improvements & efficiencies
  • A positive and solution driven mindset
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to help others and work within a team
  • Personal pride in the quality of your work and strong attention to detail
  • Confidence to work independently
  • Ability to meet required deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all quality inspections in line with our strict quality control program.
  • Be the go to person for all carpenters, apprentices, and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure all projects at our Bendigo facility are completed within set timelines, to the highest standard and within budget.
  • Lead and grow team members through ongoing mentoring, staff training and development.
  • Develop and build strong relationships with all staff, suppliers and sub contractors.
  • Ensure continual compliance with the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and all Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
