Who We Are

Since 1876, Akubra has been crafting hats in Australia using a meticulous, time-honoured process built on skill, care, and tradition. Every hat takes around six weeks to make and moves through a 162-step manufacturing process, being handled more than 200 times by 60 pairs of hands along the way. From forming and blocking the fur felt to trimming and finishing, each stage is essential to creating the quality, durability, and iconic style Akubra is known for. Joining Akubra means becoming part of a proud Australian manufacturing tradition where craftsmanship, teamwork, and attention to detail matter every day.
