Engeny has established itself as a leader in water infrastructure design, bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, flood/water management, local government, and dam related projects. Due to continued business growth and targeted direction, an opportunity exists for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Transfer Systems team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical leadership and project management support for a diverse client base on a range of exciting projects across Australia.

About the role

The core areas of focus cover large linear water infrastructure design, pumping stations, pipelines and transfer systems, condition assessments to inform upgrades, infrastructure planning, facility commissioning and audit and compliance-related work.

The role will involve:

• The role will be varied, challenging and will value your technical leadership, skills and oversight in the delivery of infrastructure projects

• Project supervision and management, including budget, timelines and client relationships

• Business development with new and existing clients to support growth and the strategic direction of the Water Transfer Systems team

• Team mentoring and coaching

• Input into the Water Transfer Systems team’s and the wider Engeny business strategies

• Develop and strengthen the Mechanical engineering discipline

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

• 10+ years industry experience

• RPEQ registration (or eligibility for registration).

• Experience in water infrastructure design, wastewater infrastructure and/or industrial

• Detailed experience in delivery of mechanical design packages including equipment selection and specification

• Municipal infrastructure or Resources Sector infrastructure skills

• Desire to help grow the mechanical discipline

• Coordination and management of multi-disciplinary technical personnel.

• Input and ownership of key engineering deliverables

• Strong project management skills

• Ability to support junior engineers passing on technical skills

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
