Plumbing Trainer and Assessor

At the Australian Trade Training College, we believe trades are the backbone of our society and we’re on a mission to empower students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their trade careers. Due to recent growth, we are in need of engaging, motivating Trainers to continue the great work in developing our future leaders in trade. As the demand for Industry Apprentices continues to grow, opportunities within Australian Trade Training College are abound.

If you enjoy a diverse role working with a diverse group of apprentices at our Campuses and on the job and bring hands on industry experience, this could be the role for you! Join a collaborative team of trainers who will provide a great support network whilst working independently to inspire and grow our students. Whether you are a qualified Trainer, or a Plumbing Tradesperson looking to take a leap into training and support Students on their Plumbing career, we'll support you to complete your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and mentor you to become a Trainer.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Training and assessing the Certificate III in Plumbing, post trade competencies and skill sets in the classroom and simulated work environment
  • Develop effective working relationships with Apprentices and Employers whilst mentoring and training 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of RTO programs
  • Monitor Apprentice training plans and ensure timely progression of our Students through their Apprenticeships
  • Delivering engaging, hands on training and assessment in a supportive environment

What You Will Bring

  • Hands-on industry experience in all aspects of Plumbing work. No prior trainer qualification? No problem - we’ll support you to complete your TAE401122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Passion for mentoring and helping others succeed - inspire and support apprentices throughout their learning
  • Strong communication and people-focused skills - able to engage students of all backgrounds.
  • Adaptability — able to modify training materials to suit different learning styles.
  • Reasonable level of computer skills
