Join our team as a Plumbing Inspector!

[Known internally as Plumbing and Drainage Assessment Officer]

 

Play a hands-on role in shaping safe, compliant plumbing and drainage outcomes across Redlands Coast. As a Plumbing Inspector, you’ll combine your trade expertise with technical assessment and site inspections, working across everything from residential homes to large-scale commercial developments. Split your time between office-based plan assessments and on-site inspections, you’ll apply legislation, problem-solve complex hydraulic issues and ensure plumbing and drainage works meet approval and compliance standards - all supported by modern digital systems and a collaborative team culture.

 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Assess and certify plumbing and drainage applications before permits are issued
  • Conduct visible onsite inspections across residential, commercial and complex builds
  • Ensure plumbing and drainage works comply with legislation, approvals and codes
  • Investigate and resolve non-compliant or unlawful plumbing installations
  • Provide expert technical advice to builders, certifiers and internal stakeholders
  • Use digital systems and mobile technology to manage inspections and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of team processes and customer outcomes

 

 

Skills and experience:

 

  • Trade qualified Plumber with substantial industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland plumbing, drainage and planning legislation
  • Proven experience across domestic and/or commercial plumbing projects
  • Confidence assessing plans and inspecting complex hydraulic designs
  • High level of digital literacy and ability to work in fully online systems
  • Excellent time management skills to manage high-volume inspections
  • Clear communication skills to advise, negotiate and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment

Eligibility:

 

  • You'll hold a current Plumber's and Drainer's Licence as per the provisions of the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018
  • You'll hold a current open class 'C' Driver's Licence
