Skill Hire will provide the training, guidance, and support you need to become a confident, skilled, and successful tradesperson.

We are currently seeking 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Plumbing Apprentices who are interested in working on defence shipbuilding projects in Henderson.

You’ll be placed with a specialist company working on small bore piping and tubing (4mm–38mm) in a highly regulated and safety‑focused environment. This is a unique worksite with specialised requirements, so we’re looking for apprentices who demonstrate a mature, professional attitude and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

About the Role

  • Work on high‑profile defence shipbuilding projects
  • Specialised plumbing involving small bore piping and tubing
  • Precision‑based work requiring attention to detail and accuracy
  • On‑site training provided, including tube bending where required
  • Exposure to a unique industrial environment not found on standard construction sites

 

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience with tube bending (preferred, but training provided)
  • A strong eye for detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • A current driver’s licence (manual preferred) with reliable transport to commute to Henderson daily
  • Current Construction White Card
  • Ability to meet all pre‑employment assessments and medical requirements
  • Confined Space and/or Working at Heights tickets (advantageous)
  • A mature mindset and strong safety awareness
