Description

JOB OVERVIEW:


The plumber works as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing facility maintenance services on client sites. The plumber is responsible for the maintenance and installation of plumbing, drainage and waste water fixtures, fittings and systems, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation.

Position Responsibilities



SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT



Be proactive in identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, and encouraging continuous improvement in relation to HSE.


Assist in identifying hazards, advising on safety procedures, and monitoring work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance. Support the RAM Services quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems by:



  • Reporting to your Manager or QHSE Adviser any situation that could result in harm to a person, the environment or may adversely affect the services we provide our customers.

  • Report to your Manager or QHSE Adviser any opportunities that you believe would improve the quality of service we provide our customers or could reduce the potential for harm to people or the environment.

  • Understand and support the annual QHSE objectives.


To immediately pause or make safe any work condition or activity that could result in immediate harm and immediately notify either by phone or in person the responsible line manager and the QHSE adviser.


Leading and promoting the implementation of the integrated management systems for Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment.



CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS



Communicate with internal and external customers on a day-to-day basis, to plan work, keep


them informed of progress, resolve any issues of concern, and identify variations or additional work.



OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE











  • General Plumbing Service – Leak repairs and minor installation work

  • General Plumbing Installation and modification scope

  • Drainage system installation, modification and repairs

  • Maintenance and repair on grey water and wastewater systems, including effluent water treatment plant

  • Interpret plans and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues with toilets, sinks, showers, hot water systems

  • Maintenance on Zip Hot and Cold-water units

  • Drain unblocking, CCTV pipe inspections

  • Minor roofing works

Skills And Experiences

SELECTION CRITERIA:


 


ESSENTIALS:



  • Ability to effectively use relevant technology systems and applications relating to key responsibilities.

  • Valid NT Plumbers License

  • Ability to communicate

  • Class C driver’s License

  • Sound knowledge regarding all facets of Plumbing and drainage, above ground and underground.

  • Sound knowledge and demonstrable understanding of the role and its organizational context including long term goals of RAMS.

  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, decision making and researching.

  • Sound computer skills

  • Understand the position within its organizational context, including relevant policies, confidentiality and regulations.

  • Appropriate interpersonal, oral and written skills. Knowledge of basic conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Good organizational skills, work ethic and personal initiative.

  • Ability to develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently or within a small team.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize whilst always representing business objectives and to meet timeframes


Desirable:



  •  Poly Welding Experience beneficial (not essential)

  • Experience in wastewater beneficial (not essential)

  • Sound computer skills

  • Confined space entry

  • Operate EWP

  • Backflow Testing qualified beneficial (not essential)

  • Gasfitters license beneficial (not essential)

  • Industry Safety Training or relevant experience
