Summary:

The Plumber is responsible for installing and maintaining plumbing systems in new construction sites or renovation projects. They should have a strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations, and work collaboratively with other contractors and team members to ensure that all plumbing installations meet the project’s specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and design of plumbing systems.
  • Install and repair plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, venting, and fixtures.
  • Install underground pipes, dugout and backfilled trenches for plumbing systems.
  • Install, repair and maintain boilers, water heaters, and other heating systems.
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks using air pressure, water pressure, or other testing devices.
  • Document all work performed and provide updates to the project manager.
  • Work collaboratively with other contractors and team members to ensure plumbing systems are installed according to project specifications.
  • Advise on best practices for plumbing installations and recommend changes as needed.
  • Resolve issues and troubleshoot problems that arise during installation.
  • Maintain plumbing tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all work is done according to safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Valid plumbing license.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in plumbing installations.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
  • Knowledge of pipefitting, welding, and soldering techniques.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and supplies used in plumbing installations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends, when needed.
