About this position:

We are seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to join our team at our Hemmant site. Reporting directly to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a key role in the rebuilding and repair of heavy machinery, including but not limited to engines and hydraulics.

In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of plant equipment, such as forklifts, log machines, and container forklifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild and repair engines to ensure optimal machinery performance.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems on heavy plant equipment.
  • Conduct maintenance and servicing on forklifts, log grabs, sennebogen machines, and container forklifts. As well as carry out preventative maintenance to maintain reliability, safety, and compliance.
  • Perform on-site repairs quickly and to a high standard, reducing downtime and ensuring safety.
  • Replace damaged or worn parts, troubleshoot mechanical issues and install new machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior technicians and apprentices in skills development and best practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in Australia with no restrictions.
  • Australian Recognized Heavy Mechanic Trade Certificate III.
  • 3-6 years of experience in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of engine and hydraulics, specializing in heavy machinery.
  • Experience working with major brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, and others.
  • Solid knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests and a police check.
  • Valid Australian Manual Driver’s License.
  • Truck driver license or Forklift license is an advantage
