Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Painter to join their team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.

THE ROLE

Amentum is seeking a skilled and reliable painter to handle all aspects of interior and exterior painting, particularly for residential properties. The role requires proficiency in surface preparation, application techniques, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes. The ideal candidate is capable of working independently to meet deadlines while maintaining safety and efficiency. Strong time management and the ability to deliver exceptional results under minimal supervision are essential.  

The Painter position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor with day to day activities overseen by the Senior Maintenance Officer You will perform the painting, repair and renovation work related  at properties within the town of Alice Springs. Painting is required as part of planned maintenance, renovations, new installations and repairs. While the majority of painting may be related to buildings, there is also a need to prepare and paint other structures and equipment. 
 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Preparation of, and painting of buildings, structures, plant and equipment as required

• Perform planning of tools, equipment, assistance and materials needed to complete tasks

• Liaise with others to notify and organize tasks to be undertaken as required

• Ensure as much as possible that equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner

• Report any incidents to management as a priority

• Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks

• Work as part of a team

• Assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time as required

• Work to ensure that safety is an integral part of everyday activities

• Other duties as directed by the VESTA management team

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Essential

• Cert III in Painting and Decorating
• Current Driver's Licence
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision
• Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks
• Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues and develop solutions to problems

Desirable

• Working at Heights
• Construction Induction card

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to fluently read, write and speak English
• Australian

EHS REQUIREMENT
