About the Role

As Workshop Supervisor, you’ll oversee the mechanical operations of a busy workshop servicing over 300 pieces of plant, machinery, and vehicles – from tractors and utes to mowers and whipper snippers.

This role balances hands-on mechanical work with team leadership, compliance, supplier coordination, and operational planning. You'll lead a team, drive performance, and ensure the fleet and workshop are always race-day ready.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage servicing, repairs, and upkeep of 315+ units of equipment
  • Supervise and support workshop team members – drive performance & skills development
  • Maintain accurate service records, schedules, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and legislative requirements
  • Source parts and liaise with suppliers for cost-effective procurement
  • Oversee stores and ensure workshop efficiency and readiness
  • Support major race days and events with critical equipment maintenance
  • Contribute to planning for capital works, upgrades, and operational improvements

 

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified Diesel or Agricultural Fitter (required)
  • Solid experience with mechanical maintenance across diverse plant/equipment
  • Strong skills in engines, hydraulics, electrics, transmissions & diagnostics
  • Proven leadership in a workshop or mechanical environment
  • Understanding of WH&S and compliance standards
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Manual driver’s licence (preferred)
  • Experience in racing, turf, or events industries is a bonus
