About the Role

TRONOX, Global leaders in titanium dioxide (TiO2) manufacturing, is recruiting for an Mechanical Technician. The role is based at our chemical refinery in the Kemerton industrial park, just North of Bunbury, in the idyllic South West of WA and is offered on a permanent basis, 9 day fortnight, 38 hour average week. The Mechanical Technician is accountable for the maintenance, service and repair of fixed plant and equipment in accordance with standards and procedures at the TiO2 refinery.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

The Mechanical Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for: 

 

  • Carrying out standard and complex maintenance and testing procedures to align with site and statuary requirements.
  • Performing fabrication and welding tasks associated with maintaining a chemical processing facility.
  • Maintained and completed welding documentation to meet inspection, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
  • Ensuring all data entry requirements are completed consistently and to standard.
  • Completing daily / weekly and shutdown maintenance of plant and equipment to execute the mechanical maintenance plan.

 

About You:

 

To be successful in this role you will have

  • The highest regard for safe work practices.
  • A trade qualification Boilermaker/Welder with strong welding expertise and a solid background in pressure pipework, including fabrication, installation
  • Skilled in TIG welding, specialising in pressure pipework fabrication across a range of material types including stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys is highly desirable.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive, multi-trade maintenance team.
  • Proficient in Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) for recording work orders, maintenance activities, and inspection data.
  • Previous experience in maintaining a complex fixed plant in accordance with strict engineering and safety standards.
  • A demonstrable passion for continuous improvement.
