Tronox is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at our Broken Hill Mineral Separation Plant. The position is offered on a permanent basis working a 9 day fortnight on a compressed 38 hour week. Working 7:00am- 4:00pm

 

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical fitter will be responsible for the below:

 

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Perform maintenance activities such as; fault finding, installation, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment, as required across site.
  • Monitoring operating equipment to detect potential problems.
  • Assemble and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans and manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning of machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

 

 

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter / Boilermaker)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive, multi-trade maintenance team
  • Previous experience gained within a fixed plant processing environment
  • A Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work nightshift
