Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Technical Director) to join our Resources and Materials Engineering team in Perth.

And as we look to transition from traditional energy sources to adopt more renewable alternatives, you can play a key role in enabling and accelerating this change. 

We’ll support you every step of the way as you join us in finding sustainable energy solutions to make a positive impact that will last for generations. 

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Provide support to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for supervising a team of qualified mechanical engineers and designers as the Lead Mechanical Engineer
• Define and develop plans to meet the project requirements and manage groups to achieve the expected results on quality, cost and schedule
• Provide, review and approve the mechanical engineering and design standards, and mechanical and layout design criteria documents
• Provide technical and administrative direction to Lead Discipline Engineers and Project Engineers related to planning, organisation and execution of their functions as well as related to specific difficult problems and methods of approach
• Collaborate with the client’s mechanical representative to ensure full, appropriate communication and co-ordination in the achievement of the project objectives

What you will bring to the team:

• 10+ years experience as a technical Mechanical Engineer within a consultancy on mining or resources projects
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience leading a (small) team, including managing costs, budgets, hours, and task delegation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and project teams
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, codes and standards
