PLI (Powerlift Industries) is a Karratha, Pilbara based leading service provider in the Mining and Resource industries and an expanding business.

THE OPPORTUNITY

PLI are seeking experienced Mechanical Supervisors to join our shutdown team working across multiple sites and activities including; fixed plant maintenance; structural remediation; operational construction projects; deconstruction, repair, fabrication, boiler-making.

DUTIES INCLUDE


  • Leading, directing and motivating a diverse team, including boilermakers, fitters, crane operators and riggers

  • Maintain and build relationships with clients, offering services, quoting and, creating relationships;

  • Manage and deliver expert advice and assistance to industry best practice and to ensure the quality of work delivered to clients and external stakeholders is consistently of a high standard;

  • High level planning and strategic thinking skills with the ability to set priorities and manage complex workflows across multiple work fronts;

  • Ensuring workers implement control measures to minimise risk to health and safety of themselves and others;

  • Report incidents, non-conformances and near misses and participate in incident investigations when required;

  • Collaborating with project engineers/managers, mechanical/ civil/ disciplines and other stakeholders;

  • Conduct Prestart meetings and toolbox talks

ABOUT YOU


  • Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical or Trade qualification;

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a supervisor in a construction / resources related environment;

  • Demonstrated experience leading a multi-disciplinary team including sub-contractor engagement;

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands;

  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally;

  • Ensure that the highest Safety Standards are met for the yard and its employees;

  • Safety and process-focused, and willing to input and continually improve the processes

REQUIREMENTS


  • Proof of right to work in Australia (mandatory);

  • Current and valid Australian drivers licence (mandatory);

  • Valid High Risk Work Licence (mandatory);

  • WAH (desirable);

  • White Card (mandatory);

  • Excellent attitude to safety;

  • Flexible attitude to work within all our crews and to assist with other duties outside your scope;

  • Successful applicant is required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol screening test.
