We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer (Professional Engineer) to join Powertech on a major Rail Infrastructure Project.
Position Overview:
Super paid on all hours worked & great $$$ rates paid
- Role: Mechanical Project Engineer– Rail Project
- Roster: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturday as required)
- Hours: 10 hours per day
- Duration: 3–6 months (potential to extend)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Brisbane, QLD
Scope of Work:
- Coordinate and deliver mechanical engineering activities across a major rail infrastructure project.
- Support installation, construction, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems and associated infrastructure.
- Manage project interfaces across mechanical, electrical, civil, and rail systems teams.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and progress tracking.
- Monitor project risks, site productivity, and construction progress, providing solutions to support successful project delivery.
- Support quality assurance processes including inspections, ITPs, NCRs, and commissioning documentation.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, rail safety requirements, and project quality standards.
- Participate in project meetings, toolbox talks, pre-starts, and stakeholder coordination activities.
About You:
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in mechanical project engineering within rail, infrastructure, mining, utilities, or major construction projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction, installation, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced project environments and manage competing priorities.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery outcomes.
