About RSGx

RSGx delivers integrated mechanical and electrical solutions across Australia’s transport, energy, resources, and water sectors. We partner with clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning and execution through to maintenance and shutdowns, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes every time.

Your Opportunity

RSGx is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver mechanical engineering and project coordination support across all project phases, from concept through to commissioning and completion.

Your role will be to ensure that mechanical systems and project deliverables are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards, playing a key role in coordinating between design, procurement, construction, and client stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes while driving continuous improvement.

In this role you will bring sharp mechanical engineering expertise across planning, design, and execution, preparing, reviewing, and approving technical drawings, specifications, and documentation with precision. You will manage the full procurement cycle, from sourcing and delivery through to hands-on inspection of mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring the right gear hits site on time and to spec.

Additional duties include:

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to members of the team to ensure all tasks are completed on time
  • Monitor compliance of the projects to ensure industry codes and practices are adhered to, quality assurance policies are followed, and performance standards are met
  • Understand and deliver upon required project outcomes in terms of technical specifications, budget, safety, quality and program
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work is completed to specification
  • Manage technical queries, requests for information (RFIs), and engineering issues
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support project communication requirements, including developing the work scope, scheduling and site compliance

About You

You hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and bring a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mechanical project engineering role, with a track record of delivering real project outcomes, not just supporting them.

Communication is a strength, holding your own with clients and contractors alike, and back your technical knowledge with sound working proficiency across relevant engineering software.

We’re looking for a self-starter who takes initiative, attacks problems head-on. You carry yourself with integrity, setting the standard others on the team aspire to.

Safety isn’t a checklist to you. You identify risks proactively, communicate best practice confidently, and bring a genuine commitment to a safe and compliant worksite.
