Turnkey is on the hunt for a Mechanical Project Engineer to support our mechanical design, provide essential engineering support, and ensure meticulous compliance with Project QA and Safety Documentation. As a vital part of our team, you'll play a key role in successful end-to-end project completion while maintaining robust client and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities


  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, collaborating with internal teams to define scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Engineering Design: Support mechanical design processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Material and Resource Management: Source materials, procure cost-effective components, and coordinate with vendors for timely deliveries.

  • Project Execution: Oversee project execution, coordinating activities across departments, and conduct progress meetings for transparent reporting.

  • Quality Assurance: enforce quality control measures, conduct thorough testing of mechanical systems, and address issues promptly.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges, proactively addressing issues affecting project timelines and deliverables.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication within the project team and with external stakeholders, providing regular updates for transparency.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and uphold industry standards.

About You


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Ideally a minimum 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

  • Australian Drivers Licence.

  • Preferably holds a Working at Heights and/or Confined Space Ticket.  

  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and generally strong IT skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
