Mechanical Fitters - Water

Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover Southeast Queensland across multiple locations, assisting Seqwater to provide water for more than 3 million people. 

We are currently seeking highly skilled Mechanical Fitters with oil and gas, water, or heavy machinery experience to work in various regions in Queensland – from Gold Coast to Beaudesert areas in the South Region, to Mount Crosby area in the Central Region and Joyner area in the North Region.

This is as short-term contract for immediate start and runs through to October 2024, focused on the delivery of mechanical and maintenance services. This is not a Fly-in, Fly-out shift work. 

Applicants with work rights to work in Australia will be considered.

• Pump alignment,
• Preservation of rotating and static equipment,
• Demonstrated experience in pressure testing,
• Asset maintenance background,
• Experience with data assessment, ordering spares and recording (Microsoft Excel). 

• Must have relevant Australian recognised trade certificate as a Mechanical Fitter,
• Previous experience in a utilities environment would be considered favourably,
• Current First Aid, LVR&CPR, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Breathing Apparatus and Gas Test Atmosphere tickets are all desirable, but not essential,
• White card or equivalent.
