About the Role

The Site Infrastructure team are seeking motivated Mechanical Fitters to join our Site Infrastructure Water Services Team on a residential lifestyle roster (4 days on - 5 off, 5 days on - 4 off, 5 days on - 5 off, dayshift only). Successful candidates will thrive in an inclusive team environment and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders

These roles are based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, home to our Port and Rail operations and the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The town, with a population of 15,000, offers well-established education services, entertainment, shopping, and medical centres.

Roster: Lifestyle roster (4 days on - 5 off, 5 days on - 4 off, 5 days on - 5 off, Dayshift only)

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute a maintenance schedule on Water Infrastructure.
• Actively participate in planning and scoping work for PM outages.
• Make maintenance and operating decisions, either individually or as part of a team, to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our assets.
• Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
• Undertake preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with maintenance planning systems and recommend appropriate follow-up actions.
• Implement improvements to work instructions and planned maintenance strategies.
• Work from hydraulic schematic drawings, prints, CSMs, plans, or manuals.
• Carry out all activities within the whole-of-job scope, including pre-work, preparation of JHAs and/or DWPs, organizing materials, execution, testing, and completion of tasks.
• Ensure that operating and maintenance targets are achieved through self-direction.
• Take responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Water Infrastructure assets.

Reporting Line: This role reports to the Supervisor, Water Services

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• An Australian-recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate (Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner/Machinist, or Hydraulics).
• Experience with component changeouts, water pumps, alignments, and the use of laser alignment equipment.
• Experience in Water Thickener and Clarification plants.
• Minimum of a C class Manual Driver’s License.
• Experience in breakdown and fault finding.
• Experience working with heavy fixed plant.
• Exposure to MMAW and gas cutting.

Desirable (though not essential):

• Additional Certifications: HRWL, Rigging (Basic), Dogging, EWP, Working at Heights, Forklift, VLC, Confined Space training, and a current MSIC.
