About the role;

If you wish to become a nationally recognised Mechanical Fitter & Machinist your future career could be right here with the Water Corporation. We have a position based in Mirrabooka, with the opportunity to rotate to different metro sites to gain a broad range of experience throughout your apprenticeship.

You can expect variety in your work. For example, one day you may be required to visit a wastewater treatment plant to carry out planned maintenance work. The next, you might be repairing machinery or replacing pumps and valves. On completion of the 4 years, you will become a qualified tradesperson.

About you

  • You must be working towards your Driver’s Licence or hold a WA ‘C Class’ Drivers Licence already.
  • You’ve completed year 12 (or year 10 in some cases) and don’t feel like Uni is for you.
  • A pre-apprenticeship is a huge bonus but not essential.
  • Positive attitudes will see you do well.
  • A strong awareness of safety.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic to learn.
  • Enjoy working with your hands – some work involves heavy manual tasks, precision work in a workshop or field environments, and some handling of dangerous goods – Don’t worry, you’ll get all the training you need to keep safe.
  • As an apprentice with us, you will be expected to be able to carry out the full range of work carried out by a tradesperson, with the appropriate training and supervision.
