UGL are seeking a Mechanical fitter to work within the GLNG Maintenance Team undertaking mechanical fitting trade activities for the client. Initially this will involve the support for maintenance of non-core and non-critical operating assets as defined within GLNG systems. Directed support will also be required under supervision at times for core and critical operating assets and key Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment as directed by the client or OEM contractor. Key tasks will include amongst other tasks\: 

  • Adherence to all Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures and identified work practices as required by UGL and the Client. 
  • Adherence to all Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) policies, procedures and identified work practices as required by UGL and the Client. 
  • Adherence to the Client maintenance policies and maintenance procedures. 
  • Proactively developing customer relationships by making efforts to listen to and understand the customer (both internal and external); anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction. 
  • Following all permit to work policies, procedures and work practices as required by UGL and the Client including Permit to Work (PTW)/ Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)/ Pre-Start/ Hand Over and Hand Back Processes/ and input to other required safety processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • Trade Mechanical Fitter Qualification. 
  • Minimum EWP Yellow Card – below 11m (RIIHAN301D) or preferred EWP WP – 11m and over certificate (TLILIC2005A). 
  • Work Safely at Heights certified (RIIWHS204D).  
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC). 
  • C Class Drivers’ License. 

Desirable/Preferred Skills 

  • Experience in an Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical or a continuous processing plant is essential. Preferable experience in continuous Oil & Gas; Hydrocarbon plant. Minimum 5 years’ experience post trade, ideally 10 year’s plus experience post trade. 
  • Forklift License 
  • Demonstrated skills in minor machinery activities. 
  • Gas detection trained. (3 yearly)
