Join our Maintenance Team

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter ready for an exciting new opportunity? At Delta, we’re looking for someone like you to bring your hands-on problem-solving and technical know-how to our dynamic Maintenance team at Vales Point Power Station. You’ll join a supportive team of seasoned professionals, tackling the challenges of maintaining and optimising large, complex plant systems and successfully completing outages. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Use your mechanical skills and trade qualifications to perform high-quality maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Lead, mentor, and share your knowledge with apprentices and other team members.
  • Work closely with contract teams when needed, such as belt splicing professionals, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and conduct task-based risk assessments to keep safety at the forefront.
  • Manage work orders in our WMS system from start to finish.
  • Apply for and receive Permits to Work – you’ll hold the necessary certifications for this.
  • Lead small teams as needed and guide them through day-to-day tasks.
  • Assess plant conditions, recommend improvements, and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Help review and improve our maintenance processes to ensure they’re always running at their best.

 

About You:

  • You are a qualified Mechanical Fitter and have had the opportunity to hone your skills in real-world settings since completing your apprenticeship and obtaining your trade certificate
  • You bring in-depth knowledge of modern power stations or other heavy industry and have an interest in working with large process plant
  • You are an analytical problem-solver and ensure precision and accuracy in everything you do
  • You’re someone who enjoys working with people, applying your expertise, and adapting to change
  • You thrive in high-pressure environments, delivering top-notch results efficiently and on time
  • You value your team and are committed to developing and mentoring others around you towards success
  • You enjoy building relationships across all levels and have outstanding communication skills
  • You are dedicated to both process and personal safety, ensuring that all activities meet the highest standards and compliance requirements
