The Opportunity

Location: Canning Vale, WA

NOV Australia have an opportunity a Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Canning Vale. The role is responsible for conducting repairs, maintenance & pressure testing to customer and rental pressure control equipment. Must be able to build equipment to the drawings, drive forklift, and assist in tasks as required. Most work will take place at our main location here in Canning Vale (a controlled environment), with occasional trips to various locations. People with automotive or factory Maintenance background flourish here.

Primary responsibilities:

  • To ensure that products are assembled in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Organise subcontractors to complete various inspections (as required)
  • To perform servicing, certification, or re-recertification of equipment.
  • Ability to read exploded view drawings, and blueprints.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiar with basic hand tools
  • Strong mechanical reasoning ability.
  • Able to read micrometres and callipers, ID, OD, Micrometre, depth.
  • Basic function of power tools.
  • Familiar with Hydrostatic Pressure Testing. (preferred not required)
  • React to Master Schedule changes that may arise from time to time.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Leaning, reaching, for periods of time may be required.
  • Overtime and occasional weekends will be required as needed.
  • Support all NOV HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Follows all PPE requirements guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Australian Trade Qualification: Certificate 3 in Mechanical or Automotive.
  • Forklift License
  • Background with Wireline, Slickline, or Coiled Tubing Pressure Control Equipment – preferred.
  • Background in Mechanical, or automotive repair with use of shop tools also suitable.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime work as required.
  • Standing up to 12 hours daily.
  • Walking up to 12 hours daily.
  • Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily.
  • Repetitive Movement (shovelling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily.
  • Lifting/moving equipment regularly.
  • Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily.
