About the role:
A Mechanical Fitter is responsible for the completion of assigned tasks as directed by their immediate Leading Hand and Supervisor, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high tradesperson-like quality.
Key Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for:
• Performing all aspects of bench work.
• Reporting equipment defects immediately to the supervisor.
• Risk assessment, development of job procedures and ensuring Take 5s are completed.
• Maintenance of documentation, service records, equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Understanding and applying procedures relating to safety and reporting.
• PPE compliance and respect for safety equipment at all times.
• Ensure that all work is kept to a high quality.
• Ensure quality assurance practices as required by the project are adhered to at all times.
• Quality control of own work.
• Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Remuneration:
• As per the HBT Queensland Enterprise Agreement 2024
• Overtime available
• 36-hour ordinary hours
• Afternoon Shift Allowance of 15%
• Night Shift Allowance of 25%
• Weekend work shall be paid at double time for all hours
About You:
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
• Trade Qualified
• Post-trade hydraulics are desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hydraulic assembly tools and equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
