Mechanical Engineer - Water Infrastructure Flexible

At WSP Australia, we’re committed to excellence in water infrastructure. Due to an increase in projects in our Water Utilities team we’re seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join us and contribute mechanical engineering expertise to critical water infrastructure projects. About the role:

Are you passionate about shaping water and wastewater systems? As a Mechanical Engineer at WSP, you’ll play a pivotal role in critical projects. Here’s how you’ll contribute:

• Technical Leadership: assist in project management and design management for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Your work will span the entire project life cycle.
• Documentation and Proposals: assist in the preparation concise, high-quality technical documentation and in crafting compelling proposals.
• Project Management: Manage designs across multiple projects or program work packages.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to exceed expectations.

 About You:

You are a Mechanical Engineer with demonstrated experience working on water industry projects such as pump stations, pipelines, hydraulics, and/or treatment plants, but we are also interested in hearing from you if you’ve worked as a mechanical engineer in the Oil & Gas or Mining industry and are keen to move into the Water space.

You enjoy working in a collaborative team environment, and engaging with clients, with the objective of providing mechanical engineering solutions which meet our clients’ requirements. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a natural curiosity to develop innovative solutions

You will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Eligible and/or working towards CPEng certification.
• At least 5 years’ experience working as a Mechanical Engineer
• Proven experience in engineering consultancy or design roles (water industry experience is advantageous).
• Technical proficiency in water and wastewater conveyance and treatment.
• Experience in hydraulic design, pump stations, and equipment selection.
• Familiarity with stress analysis and relevant software tools.
• Effective communication skills for technical reports and client interactions.
