About the role

We at InfraBuild would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2026 Graduate Program as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer based in Newcastle. 

Real Work with Real Outcomes – Starting in early 2026, our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work. Participants will complete two 12-month rotational placements, gaining a comprehensive technical and commercial skills training blend.

The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through diverse business units. This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on-the-job learning with formal education.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop skills in product design and general training in Infrabuild systems and processes.
• Provide engineering drafting, modelling and engineering support to Wire Innovation and improvement team in the development of new products and processes.
• An introduction to project planning, risk management, problem solving, intellectual property management, and change management.
• Work with Sales & Marketing, Technical, Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

About your experience

• A genuine passion to work for a large manufacturing company
• Australian/NZ citizenship or a visa granting unlimited working rights.
• Completed an Australian Tertiary degree in the past three years or set to conclude early 2026 (Mechanical engineering or mechatronics)
• Less than two years of full-time, discipline-specific work experience.
