Overview of position
Responsible for providing mechanical engineering support and expertise across plant reliability, maintenance, operations and project activities to ensure safe, efficient and reliable plant performance.
Apply sound engineering principles and technical judgement to develop, assess and implement engineering solutions to support asset integrity and reliability.
Contribute to project delivery by supporting scope development, technical reviews, scheduling coordination, and risk identification, ensuring engineering outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently.
Qualifications
▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent tertiary qualifications as well as proven experience in project engineering roles.
Knowledge
▪ Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, equipment, materials, and processes relevant to refining or heavy industrial plant operations.
▪ Demonstrated knowledge of change management procedures.
▪ Demonstrated knowledge of project management.
▪ Demonstrated knowledge of incident investigation methods.
▪ Knowledge of legislation that may impact on project planning, including but not limited to requirements for building approvals, RPEQ, MHF licencing, environmental licencing and workplace health and safety.
▪ Proven application of engineering practices and activities relating to mechanical engineering and capital project within industrial environments.
▪ Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Design & Engineering Tools (AutoCAD, Navisworks, AutoPIPE, Space Gass, Solidworks simulation)

Experience
- Experience supervising and coordinating mechanical works, including guiding small to medium teams to ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and quality requirements.
- At least two years of practical experience in mechanical engineering within construction, manufacturing, or process plant environments (or similar industrial settings), involving design support, installation, commissioning, or maintenance of mechanical systems.
