About the role:
- This role reports to the Engineering Manager
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings from customer specifications, or through approved modifications to existing products.
- Contribute to the overall Engineering objectives, through organisation-wide directives, project deadlines and other deliverables.

In executing this role, you will…
- Generate Bill of Materials and detailing of manufacturing drawings
- Liaise closely with sales and manufacturing staff to ensure the work is as per customer requirements and according to industry best practices
- Provide technical assistance to production, and fabrication as required
- File drawings as well as maintain and update all relevant design documents
- Participate in formal Engineering reviews, working groups, design reviews, and other forums
- Comply with Tectonica policies, processes and instructions including those relating to safety, duty of care and the Quality Management System
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to discuss and agree on designs as well as explore improvement opportunities
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Engineering or Mechanical trade
- 2+Years experience in the use of 3D CAD software packages, preferably SolidWorks
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Attention to detail and good record keeping is essential
- Ability to estimate the required drafting hours for a specific design and manage time accordingly
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to support a team that develops creative and innovative solutions
Individuals with experience in industries such as Rail/Transport, Medical, Automotive or Commercial Electronics are encouraged to apply.
