About the role

Water Corporation is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic 4th‑Year Mechanical Fitter to join our team. This role is ideal for an apprentice nearing completion who is passionate about working on essential water infrastructure and supporting the reliable delivery of water and wastewater services across Western Australia.

What you can expect with this role

  • Assist in the maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps, valves, pipelines, and mechanical systems across water and wastewater facilities
  • Undertake preventative maintenance, inspections, and fault‑finding with increasing independence
  • Work on a diverse range of equipment including treatment plant machinery, rotating equipment, and associated mechanical assets
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Water Corporation procedures and standards
  • Collaborate effectively with qualified trades, engineers, and operations teams
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to a safe, clean, and organised work environment

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Currently enrolled as a 4th‑Year Mechanical Fitter apprentice
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and sound understanding of trade practices
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance in all work activities
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative
  • Reliable, team‑focused, and professional in communication and conduct
  • Valid WA driver’s licence (desirable)
