Purpose of the Role

Are you an experienced Automotive /Marine Mechanic, Diesel / Truck Mechanic or Fitter / Turner with Fuel System experience seeking a change?  How does a role where you will be performing preventative and corrective maintenance on behalf of our Defence Sustainment Contract sound?

Purpose of the Role

As a part of our growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician, to join our QLD based business at our brand new warehouse and maintenance facility. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager on site.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working, experienced Maintenance Technician from the automotive / heavy machinery equipment or fuel industry to support our Commonwealth Contracts with a mix of workshop and field service / repairs working on Defence equipment.  This is a fantastic opportunity for technicians to work across a range of projects and to develop their career in a renowned worldwide business.

Work Location: On site full time, Meadowbrook QLD 4131.
Travel:  Frequent travel inter and intra state to other site locations generally during normal business hours

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the successful co-ordination, management, and delivery of Planned Maintenance (PM) and Routine Maintenance (RM) programs in conjunction with Ad hoc Maintenance activities in support of Deployable Bulk Fuel Distribution capability as directed by the Maintenance Manager.   

For this role, you need to

  • Provide direct support to the Project Team and global stakeholders.
  • Ensure that equipment availability is at the required level to support all tasks.
  • Ensure the resupply of equipment and spares are provided within the time limits agreed both at corporate and customer levels.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with the appropriate manuals and as directed by the Maintenance Manager


Key Requirements:

  • Ability to gain and maintain a baseline security clearance.
  • ≥ 5 years experience as a TAFE Qualified Technician or Mechanic (either Cert 2/4, or Apprenticeship equivalent).  Those with petrochemical experience or SQEP specifically in fuel systems or a similar operating environment (preferably Oil and Gas or Defence industry) will be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to various brands and types of machinery with knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse  Operations/Management  will  be  desirable  (e.g.,  procurement,  subcontracting, expediting, logistics, inventory management & material control).
  • Must have current MHE License or the ability to obtain.
  • Must have Current Drivers License.
  • MR and HR License is desirable.
  • Familiar in working with international suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
