THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with strong Industrial Electrical experience to join our supportive and friendly team. If you are looking for the opportunity to showcase your industrial maintenance expertise, this roles for you!  In providing high level technical support servicing our customer’s equipment, you will enhance your expertise by resolving customer issues, incidents and breakdowns on industry leading material handling equipment.

Based at 2 x sites: Canning Vale and Bibra Lake, this position attracts optional overtime and the opportunity to support other client sites within the business.

The hours of work attract afternoon/night shift loading:

  • Sunday-Thursday & Monday-Friday shift patterns (14:00 – 22:00 & 22:00 – 6:00)

  • Alternating fortnights between the two sites (2 x different types of automation)

  • Overtime rates for Sunday shifts (double-time)

  • Public Holiday Rates for P/H Mondays (with the Sunday off - paid)

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Trouble-shoot, problem solve, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults

  • Carry out equipment audits and preventative maintenance tasks

  • Electrical fault finding, including replacement of contactors, relays, field devices, etc

  • Programming drives, scanners, electronic control modules

  • Troubleshooting PLCs

  • Lubrication, belt tracking, replacing bearings, chains, belts, motors & gearboxes

  • Undertake training of new technicians and operators (when required)

  • Seek to reduce downtime and improve system reliability

  • Identify operational and equipment improvement opportunities through ongoing investigation and root cause analysis of faults

Tasks and Qualifications:

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS REQUIRES

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting & problem-solving equipment faults within a maintenance environment

  • Electrical: Unrestricted Electrical Licence (Australian)

  • Trade Qualification: Certificate III – Electrotechnology and above

  • Your own transportation and current Australian driver’s license

  • A commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction

  • Be mechanically savvy (experience with maintaining mechanical and pneumatic systems)

  • Industrial controls understanding (PLC's, VFD's, HMI's, Etc.)

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

  • Self-Motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team

The following will also be highly regarded:

  • PLC experience (we can provide training on Siemens S7 and SCADA systems)

  • Sound experience in Microsoft Office and report writing skills

  • Computerised maintenance systems experience (MEX)

  • Experience with automation (conveyors and sortation systems)
