Description

DP World Brisbane is seeking for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Superintendent (Mechanical) to lead the planning and execution of maintenance activities for mechanical equipment across our terminal operations. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance, managing mechanical repairs and improvements, and coordinating human and physical resources effectively.

This is a critical leadership role that supports the operational efficiency and safety of our facility through strategic maintenance planning and delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Supervise and develop the mechanical team to maintain high performance and 24/7 operational readiness.
  • Plan and execute mechanical maintenance activities efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Monitor equipment performance, resolve recurring issues, and implement reliability improvements.
  • Lead mechanical improvement projects from design to implementation, ensuring quality and cost control.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align maintenance efforts with operational goals.
  • Ensure maintenance work meets quality standards and preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Drive continuous improvement through better maintenance practices, systems, and performance tracking.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Must have Permanent Residency in Australia and Working Rights for Australia 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in heavy industry maintenance, equipment, planning, and workshop operations & holds a professional engineering degree or trade qualification in mechanical or maintenance disciplines.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large teams across multiple trades in a maintenance environment & Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Thorough understanding of OHS regulations, codes of practice, and risk management procedures.
  • Skilled in maintenance budgeting, expenditure control, purchasing, and inventory oversight.
  • Able to solve complex problems, implement improvements, and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and administrative capabilities.
