About the opportunity

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Maintenance Officer - Electrician, you’ll help create a safer environment for our residents.

  • Located at Werribee Mercy in the Engineering Department
  • Permanent Full-time position with a Rostered Day Off per month
  • Monday to Friday role, 8am – 4.30pm
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • Potential to salary package up to $11,660 to increase your take home pay
  • Role provides plenty of variety with responsibility for on-going repairs and preventative maintenance of building assets & infrastructure
  • Training will be provided on commencement
  • Join a small, friendly and social team who work closely together in a relaxed environment
  • Requirement to participate in the paid-on call roster (1 week in 3) with vehicle + laptop provided for on call
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, applicants must have full work rights in Australia

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A Grade electrical licence required
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a facilities maintenance position (health care experience preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of Electrical maintenance related issues within a building facility
  • Excellent interpersonal & effective communication skills
  • A strong customer and team focus is a must
  • An innovative, practical approach to problem solving
  • Able to multi task job priorities
  • Able to problem solve with a willingness to learn new skills
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, applicants must have full work rights in Australia

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • Current driver’s licence (for on call)
  • Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance frameworks relating to residential aged care.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance.
  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
