Are you looking to start your career in a hands-on, practical role where you can learn from experienced tradespeople and gain valuable skills? This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated Facilities & Grounds team at Saint Stephen’s College, where no two days are ever the same.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in helping keep our campus safe, functional, and looking its best. You’ll work alongside a skilled and supportive maintenance team and get the chance to develop your knowledge in building maintenance, grounds care, and minor repairs – making this the perfect stepping stone into a career in trades or facilities management.

Position details:

  • Permanent
  • 38 hours per week
  • Pay rate – this is an entry level labouring role, with pay consistent with the Saint Stephen’s College Enterprise Agreement

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with general cleaning, waste removal, and grounds maintenance
  • Supporting the team with minor repairs like fixing leaks, changing light bulbs, and basic maintenance tasks
  • Helping with painting, decorating, and keeping facilities in top shape
  • Loading and unloading supplies, maintaining tools and equipment
  • Reporting maintenance issues to supervisors and assisting with inspections
  • Helping set up and pack down for College events and activities

  • A valid Driver’s Licence and current Blue Card are required
