We are seeking applications for a Maintenance Handyperson to join our Facilities Team at Ballarat, on a permanent full-time or part-time basis.
The Maintenance Handyperson ensures that all maintenance work is carried out to the highest possible standard as directed by the Facilities Manager and in accordance with appropriate regulations and standards.
The Position
Maintenance of plant and equipment within the hospital in accordance with the planned maintenance schedules, work requests system and statutory requirements.
Respond promptly to work requests that may come verbally from the Facilities Manager, through requisition forms, or in emergency situations by telephone, and discuss any delays with the Facilities Manager.
Attend to requisitions in order of priority as allocated by the MEX system. Generally, a patient’s comfort and safety is given the highest priority.
Assist all tradespersons as required.
Carry out minor building repairs as requested.
Be an active member of the engineering department core team and foster the concepts of continuous improvement.
Monitor and supervise work of lower-level maintenance caregivers
Submit all requests for materials in writing to the Front reception team for ordering.
We are seeking a highly experienced maintenance professional with over five years of hands-on experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
Applicants with past institutional experience working in maintenance, painting or grounds maintenance will be highly regarded.

We can offer you
Salary: $60,652 to $62,316 per annum (pro rata if part time), plus 11.5% Superannuation
Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week. Part-time considered.
