Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest growers and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at our Virginia site in South Australia.

As a valuable member of our team, you will play a vital role in the success of our Potato, Carrot and Onion operation. If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for machines, we would love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager you will be working collectively as part of a team assisting across a range of maintenance operations.

An attractive remuneration package between $70,000 - $85,000 is available to the right candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance for all company plant & equipment
  • Timely completion of assigned tasks both safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Use of lathes, mills, presses and other workshop equipment to repair, modify and construct equipment components
  • Review of drawings, Australian Standards, and other material attributes for the purpose of equipment design, selection and operation
  • Work with operations to provide advice on optimal machine settings
  • Perform installation and relocation of equipment as required
  • Ensuring all fabricated and assembled components are checked for accuracy and fit using precision measuring tools
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of maintenance projects, taking responsibility as directed.
  • Diagnose faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic parts
  • Perform all types of maintenance to the fullest of your capability, without demarcation
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop and other work locations.
  • Maintain and servicing of all tools and other workshop equipment
  • Maintain inventory records and procure parts and equipment as required an in accordance with procedure and processes
  • Responsibility to understand the site’s commitment to the ongoing compliance to the Fresh care Food Safety and Quality Standard
  • Inform supervisor if there is a potential for product contamination
  • Not perform or fail to perform any activity which will result in a non-compliance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • All other requirements to achieve business objectives

Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification plus at least 2 years relevant experience OR at least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Results focused with can do attitude.
  • Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Cultural adaptability and a willingness to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake manual, and sometimes physical work.
