About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join our team across our farming operations

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant and equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, maintaining production output, and supporting a strong safety culture across the site.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment
  • Attending breakdowns, troubleshooting faults, and returning machinery to service quickly
  • Conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment issues
  • Maintaining and repairing conveyors, compressors, pumps, refrigeration and processing equipment
  • Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated systems
  • Maintaining spare parts inventory and supporting cost control
  • Participating in production, safety, and reliability meetings
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, HACCP, GMP and quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, manuals, and documentation
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to team development

What We’re Looking For

You are a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with a proactive, safety-first approach and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

You will bring:

  • Trade qualification (Fitter or equivalent)
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing or food processing environments
  • Strongfault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with plant equipment such as conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearmotors and refrigeration systems
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience working with HACCP, GMP or quality systems (highly regarded)
  • Welding experience (MIG/TIG/ARC) is advantageous
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Commitment to workplace health, safety, and compliance
