Primary Responsibility:

You will be primarily responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigerated warehouse, and capital project installations in a timely and cost-effective manner. This involves the day-to-day operation of plant and equipment including, but not limited to, air compressors and refrigerated dryers, rapid roller doors, dock equipment, pallet racking, pallet wrappers, plant, equipment, building, essential services, and computer-based controls program. 

This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday - standard business hours at our Murarrie Campus.

What You'll Do:

  • Undertake continual reviews of plant and equipment maintenance effectiveness, reliability, and downtime, and make refinement recommendations.
  • Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
  • Assist in conducting tests of safety equipment (Exit signs, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, etc.) to ensure OHSA and operational standards.
  • Identify critical spare parts & quantities to be kept on-site to prevent unnecessary delays in repairing production equipment
  • Assist in keeping accurate preventive maintenance records.
  • Keep the work area clean and perform housekeeping duties as required.
  • Performs related work and other job assignments as required

What Experience and Education You Need:

  • 5+ years managing maintenance-related work within the trade discipline.
  • Mechanical trade qualifications
  • Managing multiple sites from a facilities management perspective
  • Understanding and interpreting operating specifications, plans and plant and equipment servicing standards.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-administration and effective time management skills, such as good judgement in prioritising work, meeting deadlines and KPIs
  • Working collaboratively with internal customers and multidisciplinary teams, including other trade groups and contractors as required
  • Current Driver’s License

What Could Set You Apart:

  • 5S’s – 6S’s methodology knowledge (or willingness to learn)
  • Knowledge of the Controlled Temperature Distribution and Storage operations (advantageous)
  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and legislation on property maintenance / facilities management industry, including essential safety measures

Physical Requirements & Abilities:

  • May be required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of –15 degrees and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation)
  •  Must tolerate heights up to 35 ft. and be able to access elevated platforms and catwalks
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; push; pull; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and/or manipulate parts & tools
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision and depth perception. Either naturally or with the aid of eyeglasses
  • Able to pass a physical and respiratory exam
