A great 12-month opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Electrician who can deliver a range of electrical services at beautiful South Bank Parklands. You will be responsible for delivering high quality electrical services with a safety-first approach.

At City Parklands, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brisbane City Council, we are passionate about parks, public places and people and we deliver integrated place management for Roma Street Parkland, South Bank Parklands, Victoria Park/Barrambin, Anzac Square, Post Office Square and Newstead House on behalf of Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government.

As the trusted custodians of these premier parklands and precincts, we acknowledge the responsibility to manage, enhance and enliven these beautiful places effectively and efficiently.

Our Maintenance Electrician will:

  • Work in compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and Australian/New Zealand Standards, the City Parklands’ Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry out programmed and reactive maintenance of lighting and power circuits, pump motors and control circuits, building and facilities electrical equipment.
  • Install new equipment and facilities.
  • Operate computer system control (Experience with C-BUS systems preferred).
  • Able to use software packages. E.g. Microsoft outlook. Word, excel
  • Set up and maintain electrical power for events and markets.
  • Inspection of all electrical works.
  • Attend to tenant issues in emergencies in line with City Parklands requirements.
  • Service and maintain electrical equipment.

South Bank Parklands are open to the public 7 days per week, and you will be required to participate in an on-call/ standby and after-hours roster, 365 days per year.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • Valid Fitter/Mechanic Licence;
  • Valid CPR and Low Voltage Rescue accreditation;
  • Manual driver’s licence (class C);
  • Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers is desirable;
  • EWP and Forklift Licence, or ability to gain; and
  • Experience in the repairs and maintenance of electrical systems, including troubleshooting and rectification in a continuous operational environment.
