Founded by the late Robert (Bob) Oatley AO BEM in 2006, A. G. Oatley Family Wines is a family-owned winery led by his eldest son Sandy Oatley.
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. They will be responsible for building capability in production and maintenance teams to deliver overall results. The role will assist in overseeing the preventative, corrective, and continuous improvement aspects of maintenance support for the bottling line. This is a hands-on position where you must be available and approachable whilst ensuring our staff are engaged.
The Role
- Preventative maintenance system including maintenance planning & scheduling.
- Focusing on defect handling and breakdown elimination through collaborative root cause investigation.
- Perform and manage planned and un-planned maintenance tasks.
- Carry out regular scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive servicing to all equipment and machinery across our winery and production lines.
- Complete checklists and maintain accurate records as part of our ongoing Quality Accreditation systems.
- Attend breakdowns, troubleshoot and locate sources of problems as a matter of urgency.
- Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to help diagnose malfunctions.
- Undertaking and assist with specific project work upon request.
- Work with team members in identifying root causes to malfunctions and implementing fixes.
- Carry out repairs to machinery and equipment with minimal downtime to production.
- Assist with maintenance of inventory of equipment, parts and supplies.
- Workshop housekeeping – maintaining and keeping workshop area clean and tidy, ensuring tools and equipment are in a clean state at the end of every shift.
- Generally constant work hours with some variation during vintage and as required for machinery restoration to operational status.
Skills and Experience
- Experience with PLC, safety circuit and control systems, reading and interpreting drawings
- Industrial experience in installations, fault finding, repairs and maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Willingness and ability to adapt to be an all-round maintenance team member assisting other trade qualified staff members with Mechanical, Fabrication, Pneumatics, electronics etc
- Team focus, displaying effective communication with all staff members and stakeholders.
- Organised & proactive self-starter with a creative / innovative problem-solving attitude
- Knowledge and appreciation of Work Health and Safety requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot, fault find and solve problems independently.
- Strong electrical knowledge with respect to high-speed packaging equipment
- Packaging line control familiarity and programming skills desirable
- Computer skills (Microsoft suite, computerised maintenance management system)
