We have a permanent opportunity for a Maintenance Delivery Technician (Mechanical) to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Western Australia. Based in Perth on a 15/13 FIFO roster, you will support the effective delivery of maintenance projects across our WA gas transmission network.

Reporting to the Team Leader Maintenance Delivery, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient execution of maintenance and pipeline projects including:

As the onsite Permit Issuing Officer (PIO), you will work closely with the Pipelines and Major Maintenance teams to coordinate activities, supervise work crews, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with internal, client, and legislative HSEH requirements. You will provide technical guidance, support equipment isolation and job planning, and carry out maintenance tasks as needed

Your leadership, technical capability, and commitment to safe work practices will enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure project outcomes are achieved with minimal downtime and customer impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the onsite role of Permit Issuing Officer (PIO) while providing site supervision and technical guidance across a variety of maintenance projects statewide.
  • Assist in developing project scope, schedules, and supporting documentation including Work Instructions, Isolation Plans, and HSEH documents.
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of work crews to ensure safe execution of project scope and adherence to HSEH protocols.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders by preparing and delivering reports on project schedules, progress, and outcomes.
  • Carry out operational maintenance, troubleshooting, and project-related activities as required.
  • Support the planning and delivery of maintenance and pipeline integrity projects to ensure production requirements are achieved and downtime minimised.

Your background

  • Mechanical trade qualification with strong technical knowledge of gas transmission plant, systems, and ancillary equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Permit to Work, contractor HSEH management systems, and Lock Out Tag Out isolation processes.
  • Experience in industrial process operations, with knowledge of rotating machinery, heat exchangers, and pipeline integrity inspection (pigging) viewed favourably.
  • Strong leadership and people skills, with proven capability in planning, scheduling, and field management of multidisciplinary work crews.
  • Competent in the use of software‑based project or maintenance management tools and other computer-based systems.
  • Possession of a C and HR driver’s licence, with the ability to travel and work remotely for extended periods.
