Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic with expertise in 4WD vehicles to join our clients team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining 4WDs while working on a diverse range of vehicles, including passenger cars, vans, and light trucks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 4WD suspension, drivetrain repairs, differential servicing, and performance upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs for 4WDs, cars, and vans.
  • Diagnose and repair brakes, clutches, steering, suspension, and shock absorbers.
  • Perform logbook servicing in line with manufacturer specifications without compromising warranties.
  • Carry out wheel alignments and tyre fitting for various makes and models.
  • Diagnose and repair cooling systems, transmissions, and differentials.
  • Service and repair automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Conduct EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) diagnostics and repairs.
  • Complete auto electrical repairs, including troubleshooting and installing electrical components.
  • Provide air conditioning servicing, regassing, and repairs.
  • Conduct LPG system servicing and repairs as required.
  • Manufacture and install hydraulic hoses for various applications.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a light vehicle mechanic, with a strong background in 4WD servicing and repairs.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with suspension upgrades, differential rebuilds, and transmission servicing (highly regarded).
  • Knowledge of EFI systems, cooling systems, and brake/clutch components.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current Australian drivers licence (manual preferred).
  • Air conditioning and LPG certification (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
