Habitat Creations is a family-owned company specialising in Environment, Landscaping, and Open Space Maintenance. Our teams create and maintain some of Melbourne’s most beautiful and sustainable soft landscapes, including urban parks, waterways and wetlands.

The opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced large-scale commercial landscaper to join our team in a leadership position, to help deliver an exciting pipeline of urban landscaping and water-sensitive urban design (WSUD) projects throughout Melbourne’s West and North. This hands-on role leads 2-8 landscaping and planting team members per project. You’ll have the opportunity to manage and deliver important, meaningful landscape projects for our industry-leading partners, that will become valuable environmental and community assets like urban wetlands, waterways and public reserves.

In this role, you’ll be required to conduct a range of duties including machine operation, soil preparation, jute matting, mulching and weed control to ensure effective site preparation. You’ll also be responsible for installing native and indigenous plants, trees, grass reserves and other landscaping items (i.e. fencing, concreting, street furniture) according to a landscape plan, and in line with set project budgets and targets.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

• Experience in large-scale commercial landscaping, or similar (essential)
• Leadership experience (highly preferred)
• Current Driver’s License and reliable transport (essential)
• Construction White Card (essential)
• First Aid Level II (essential)
• ChemCert/ACUP (highly preferred)
• Small plant experience (i.e. skid steer / excavator) (highly preferred)
